Hotel In Barcelona

Every year lots of us like to flock to warmer climates for a week of total relaxation, and Costa Brava hotels are a popular choice. Whether you want a culture-filled week in Barcelona or simply want to test out all of the beaches close to the city, you are bound to have a fabulous time away here.

Travelling around by bicycle is an excellent way to see the sights and enjoy the sunshine, so if you might be tempted into hiring a bicycle while staying in Barcelona the perfect beach for you might be Beach Bogatell. There is a cycle track bordering the beach and plenty of space to lock your bike up for the day. It is considered one of the safest beaches on the coast so you will not need to worry too much about keeping a constant eye on them, leaving you to enjoy your day at the beach. If the cycle down didn't use enough of your energy then join in a game of volleyball.

Volleyball is also popular on beach Nova Icària, located in the centre of the city's coastline, although it tends to be one of the quietest beaches in the area. Because of its location this is easily accessible from lots of the hotels in the area and most people wander down on foot to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet all day; why not pack a picnic and head down in the morning with a good book and plenty of suncream.

Two much busier beaches are the long beaches of St. Sebastià and Barceloneta, each just over 1km long. St. Sebastià will be closest for anyone looking at hotels on the eastern coastline in the region of Ciutat Vella, and those who might like to treat themselves to a luxury hotel here could try the 5* W Barcelona beach-front hotel, from which you can easily explore Ciutat Vella and St. Sebastià beach. This is a great option for family holidays as there is an Aquarium nearby which the children are bound to enjoy when they tire from building sandcastles.

Beach Barceloneta has excellent transport links, accessible by both metro and bus. This means it attracts younger people who might struggle to meet up elsewhere and also tourists who are not hiring a car. There is a Beach Centre here from which lots of activities are run during the summer months, including volleyball and table football. There is also a small library where you can borrow beach books from, so when you are packing you can save some space in your suitcase and simply head here on day one! This is another good option for families as there is a children's play area on the west side of the beach where you can watch them making new friends and having lots of fun in the sun.

Costa Brava hotels are the perfect base for exploring Barcelona's beaches but those of you who prefer a cultural city break away can of course take advantage of everything the city has to offer.
